My reason for creating this site is two-fold:
- To educate the world that running a business is nothing like the glamorous pursuit the media makes it out to be.
- To use my 30+ years’ experience to invest in companies and give struggling business owners their lives back.
Today’s media glamourises business like no other profession. Everywhere you look there is the latest success story or a guru encouraging you to 10x your business, telling you how to improve your time management or how to go for your next funding round.
For the vast majority of business owners the day-to-day experience of running a business simply isn’t like this. They are more preoccupied with getting the next client, paying wages, or dealing with the latest government induced paperwork or extra expense such as the recent doubling of business rates or paying compulsory pensions.
Whilst some of these things do get talked about in the press the overall commentary on social media and business news is about success stories and glib advice on how to improve virtually any aspect of your business.
Business has never been like that – and the purpose of this website is to tell it how it really is. And to help struggling business owners to get their lives back.
